The largest member of the grass family - Bamboo

Bamboo releases more oxygen than any other plants, actually 35% more than ordinary woods. This is caused by fast growth.

While it creates more oxygen than other woods it also recycles large amounts of CO2, it can absorb 30% CO2 while releasing as much as  35% oxygen, so choosing bamboo positively contributes to CO2 mitigation.

The largest member of the grass family - Bamboo

In addition to being a very fast-growing plant, bamboo is a very strong and hard material, much stronger than traditional woods. Bamboo is very stable and is affected only very little by humidity.

Care - While Bamboo is a hardy material it still needs and appropriate care - we recommend you to, oil the bamboo parts before taking the furniture into use, and again after approx. 4 weeks, then as needed.

Powder Coated Aluminum & Steel

Powder coating is an organic coating method where a fine powder is applied to the furniture. It gives a much thicker finish than conventional liquid coatings, without running or sagging. Unlike other spraying methods, it contains no solvents and releases little or no volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The greatest benefit is durability. Powder-coated metal lasts a long time in harsh outdoor environments and helps prevent rust.

Teak

Mindo pairs powder-coated aluminium frames with certified teak tops and seats. Teak is a dense, naturally oily hardwood that handles sun and rain well and adds warmth and texture to a clean metal frame.

Care - Clean with mild soapy water and a soft brush. Left untreated, teak weathers naturally to a silver-grey patina. To keep the golden tone, apply teak oil once or twice a year.

High-Performance Ceramic

Not your traditional ceramic. Our tabletops are engineered slabs of natural minerals, fired at very high temperatures into a dense, non-porous surface. Far tougher than tiles or pottery, they resist scratches, stains, heat, UV and weather. They’re safe to leave outdoors year-round with no cover, and never need sealing, oiling or sanding.

Care - Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soapy water. Avoid hard knocks on the edges, and don’t stand or sit on the top.

Sustainable Choice

Houe and Mindo are Danish outdoor furniture brands, designed in Denmark with lasting materials and less waste in mind. Many Houe pieces use recycled plastic, including lamellas made from Danish household plastic waste, which gives everyday waste a second life as comfortable, good-looking furniture.

These are paired with renewable bamboo, one of the fastest-growing materials available, and with certified teak, mostly in Mindo’s collections. Frames are powder-coated aluminium and steel. The coating is solvent-free and releases little or no VOCs, so durable outdoor furniture doesn’t have to come at the planet’s expense.

Four white chairs with black frames arranged around a small table by a pool with a clear blue sky.

Built for Australian Beach Life

Our outdoor furniture is made for strong sun, sudden rain and salty coastal air. UV-resistant lamellas and rust-resistant powder-coated frames hold their shape and colour season after season, and ceramic tops shrug off weather and hot dishes. Most pieces can stay outside without a cover. Teak weathers to a silver-grey patina unless oiled, and bamboo needs an occasional oiling.

Light, stackable and easy to move, our ranges suit balconies, decks, courtyards and poolside spaces, as well as cafés and hospitality venues.

Low-Maintenance Living

Outdoor time should be spent enjoying the space, not maintaining it. Powder-coated aluminium frames wipe clean with soapy water, ceramic tops resist weather and spills, and recycled plastic lamellas need only a quick wipe.

Even the natural materials are forgiving. Teak is happy to weather to a soft silver-grey, and bamboo needs just an occasional oil.

Made for Entertaining

Mindo’s extendable tables use a built-in mechanism with no loose leaves to store, running from a narrow balcony table to a large table of about 327 cm. Matching benches tuck neatly underneath when not needed.

Ceramic tops are waterproof and suit hot or cold serving pieces, while light Houe chairs make it easy to seat a crowd, then clear the deck.
